covent garden and buckingham palace
Here's a few snaps from my rainy day adventures to Covent Garden and Buckingham Palace. I must say, the squirrel is quite possibly my favourite.
after dark ambling
I went for a wander in my new coat last night. I bought a chamomile and lemon tea from a small cafe to keep me warm. I found a lovely book shop, West End Lane Books. I perused the shelves for quite some time, bought a card and left.
This morning I'm going to look for jobs, listen to the Beatles while I do so, then I may take a trip to Covent Garden.

hair today, gone tomorrow
I finally parted with my locks this afternoon, after a trip to Topshop. It was quite an event, those in the salon were quite excited to be a part of the experience. One even said he'd like to have me as a model. Shucks.

I arrived coat-less[1] at Heathrow airport ever so early on Sunday morning. On the drive from the airport my eyes wandered here and there, to and fro. In fact they still do. There is so much to see, so many faces. The buildings are amazing. Amazing. As are the bright red double-decker buses and the old fashioned taxis.
Yesterday Erika, Mike and I went walking through Hyde Park where I saw my first squirrel! They then departed and I strolled down Oxford Street, caught the tube back to West Hampstead and perused the grocery store on my way home. I did buy some cinnamon and raisin bagels, which I ate for breakfast this morning. So divine.
Today has been quite productive. This morning Erika and Larissa kindly helped me make a list of places to visit, things to do and such. I purchased a phone, set up a bank account and cleaned the kitchen. Erika and I also moved Elliot's belongings fom one room to another, all but the computer. We were strictly instructed not to touch that.
[1] I left my coat at customs in Sydney airport. I put it down when I was putting my bags through the x-ray machine and in my nervous state forgot to pick it up again. Of course I didn't come to realise this until we were in the clouds.

london calling
My feet are yet to touch London soil, but I can hear it calling. Louder than ever. In all my excitement I've created a travel blog to keep my folks at home up to date with my adventures. My list of things to do, places to visit and things to change about myself while I'm away is growing ever longer. I must make time to tell the tales. And I must remember to be brave.
