In the weeks leading up to our departure from the South of Sweden we went on wee adventures here and there. This one was to Malmö, a small city not too far from Lund. It was freezing. So freezing in fact that the water in the fountain in the centre of town was frozen mid fall. Never before had I seen such a thing nor been so blown away by what the cold can do. I must admit I was fearful the same would happen to my hair on account of I had made the mistake of not drying it before we left the house. Thankfully my hair remained as it was.

in the quivering forest
Twas ever so sunny yesterday morning. My Swede, Pappa Swede and I went down to the forest. We went our separate ways. Mathias ran, Pappa Swede walked at a steady pace and I ambled peacefully at the pace of a snail on a Sunday. It was a treat. Everything was sprinkled with snowflakes. I took photographs of what my eyes beheld and marvelled at the beauty of it all. I saw pie cones floating in frozen puddles and puddles that had been shattered by my feet and by others. I saw snow capped mushrooms and sprouting stems trying their very best to reach the sunlight that was slipping through silhouettes that were standing tall. Taller than the trolls that I'm sure were hiding in the shadows, watching my every move. And the ghosts of Vikings passed whose ships once sailed in the sea I saw just beyond the trees I'm sure were doing the same...
icicle tusk
Pardon me for the lack of blogging of late. I've been out of town but this post should make up for lost time.
Last week my main Swede took me to Stockholm. We travelled four hours on the train in the wee hours of Thursday morning and were greeted by the city with snowflakes and city hustle. Our days were full of surprises. Full of friendly faces and of cold feet and blue lips. Of breakfast and brunch and beautiful sights. I saw many wonderful things in the snow and between the trees but I think the icicle tusks were by far my favourite.
While waiting for our train back to Lund on Saturday afternoon we sat on a wooden bench in the station and entertained one another. Having had approximately two and a half hours sleep on Friday night this wasn't difficult on account of the facet that every move we made was made with hilarity. I suffered from a giggle-induced belly ache after He stuck a candy mushroom to his forehead and asked a stranger what the time was and then proceeded with numerous attempts to make me eat it off his head. Oh boy.
